Telecare Program
The Telecare service is a free program offered to the community by the Orchard Hospital Auxiliary. If you have a family member, good friend, or neighbor you feel may need a daily call for any reason, the Telecare service is available to you. Residents of Biggs, Gridley, Live Oak, and Richvale who live alone, regardless of age, health, religion, or financial status, are eligible to be called. Calls can be reminders to clients to turn their Lifeline on or to take medications and eat breakfast.
Volunteers call six days a week between 9:00 am and 10:00 am. If the person cannot be reached, they are called again at the end of the calling list. If that person still cannot be reached, the emergency contact (such as a relative, close friend, or neighbor is called). Each person called receives a personal visit once a year to help put a face with a name.
If you or someone you know would like to sign up for this valuable service, call Doris Pettersen at (530) 846-2030. You can also leave your information with any Auxiliary member or the gift shop at the hospital (530) 846-9000.
