Orchard Hospital has a history of taking great care of our community, together we were able to assist with the purchase of these vital pieces of equipment that are used everyday. With a new Hospital on the horizon, it is time to be equipped with current diagnostic tools. Glidescope

A Glidescope is a video device that helps specially trained healthcare providers to see patients' body. It helps with smoother intubation while allowing the healthcare teams to visualize the airway with greater physical distancing than traditional intubation techniques.   


3D Mammography 

Now Offering State-of-the-Art Genius™ 3D Mammography™ Exams from Hologic. Our Genius™ 3D Mammography™ exam is revolutionizing how breast cancer is detected by providing a better option for women of all breast densities compared to 2D alone. Researchers have found that:
  • The Genius™ 3D Mammography™ exam finds 20-65% more invasive breast cancers compared to 2D alone, an average increase of 41%.
  • Only the Genius™ 3D Mammography™ exam is FDA approved as superior for women with dense breasts compared to 2D alone.
  • The Genius™ 3D Mammography™ exam reduces callbacks by up to 40% compared to 2D alone.

Digital X-Ray Machine

The difference in clarity between the images of our current x-ray machine and a new digital x-ray machine is a "see for yourself” picture:
 

 

CT Scanner

Until recently, the technical gold standard was the 16-slice CT scanner, which required the patient to hold their breath for 25 to 40 seconds in the time it took to perform the scan. Today, the 64 slice CT scanner can perform the same task in just a few seconds and the images are much better.

The 64-slice CT scanner can gather a high-resolution image of a heart, brain or both lungs in less than five seconds. A scan of the whole body takes about 30 seconds. The speed of the 64 slice CT scanner has also allowed for the technology to be an alternative to conventional angiography or cardiac catheterization. The procedure is less invasive and produces excellent imaging.


Senior Life Solutions Van 

A new ten (10) passenger van has been purchased for the Senior Life Solutions Program. The van is being used to pick patients up at their homes and return them after their appointments.
